Halee, along with her two brothers, grew up on an equine farm near Rivers, Manitoba. She is a self-described sports nut having been involved in soccer, volleyball, hockey, and rodeo during her school years. She was a member of the Manitoba High School Rodeo Association for 7 years and competed both at the Canadian and National levels.
She played both boys and girls hockey, and finally committed to just girls when she hit the Midget age group. She played for the Hamiota Huskies and chose to also play on the AAA Yellowhead Chiefs for a season. Needless to say, she kept her parents hopping!
After high school, she completed her Bachelor of Science at Brandon University, with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Biology. She then moved to Winnipeg to continue her post graduate education. She completed her Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Manitoba, and is set to celebrate her convocation in October 2016.
While being a student has been Halee’s main focus, she also enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, reading a good book, trying new restaurants, and being active. She plans to begin riding horses again and is looking to join a ladies recreational hockey team in Swift Current. Now that she’s an official STRIDE team member, she also plans to give CrossFit a go since she’s always been intrigued by it!
Halee is very excited to start her career at STRIDE (and we’re thrilled to have her)! She plans to continue her education in manual therapy courses, acupuncture, and any others that pique her interest as she’s immersed in her practice.
Halee has successfully completed the written component of the Physiotherapy Competency Exam (PCE) and will be taking part in the practical component of the PCE in November 2016. She is also set to challenge the Level One exam of the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association in September 2016. She’s a keen bean!
