Rae grew up in the small town of Creelman (close to Weyburn) and is the daughter of a farmer and a teacher. She completed her physical therapy training at the University of Saskatchewan.

Since convocation, Rae has gone on to receive her Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. This has provided her eligibility for her FCAMPT designation, making her the only physio in Southwest Saskatchewan to accomplish such a feat. Rae is also certified with the Canadian Acupuncture Foundation Institute, is a Matheson trained ergonomic consultant, and has participated in other courses over the years such as Functional Movement Systems Level 1 and the Sport First Responder.

Together with her husband, Jody, Rae has three daughters; Kaylee, Brenna, and Aspen. While her girls have kept her busy with all their activities over the years, when Rae manages to carve time out for herself, you will find her enjoying time camping, boating, gardening, skiing, coaching softball, watching movies, and curling; both competitively in the past and recreationally now. She is an avid Rider fan and despite their recent dismal season, still loves her season tickets.
