Meet Taryn

Hey, I’m Taryn — a Physiotherapist who grew up in Kamloops, BC, with summers split between Las Vegas and Irma, Alberta. I completed my undergraduate studies in Kamloops and went on to earn my Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Saskatchewan. Before becoming a physio, I spent years working as a team trainer across hockey, football, lacrosse, and the WCBL, which really shaped my love for sport, movement, and helping athletes grow both physically and mentally.

I’m passionate about keeping people active and confident in their bodies. My approach is very hands-on in the clinic, using manual techniques to help you move and feel better, and then building on that with exercise to support progress at home. I enjoy working with a wide variety of ages and conditions — the rural mix keeps me sharp — but I’ve always had a soft spot for athletes. There’s a nuance in sport rehab that feels like a language I naturally “speak.”

Your comfort is always my top priority. Some treatments can feel uncomfortable, and rehab can be intimidating at first, but I want people to feel safe, supported, and heard throughout the process. If you’re nervous about starting therapy, that’s completely normal. We work as a team, and my role is to help guide you forward at a pace that feels right for you.

Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find me outdoors, staying active, or getting creative with anything that keeps my hands busy — pottery, crochet, or pretty much any craft I can make from scratch. Fun fact: I love working with my hands so much that creative hobbies have become one of my favourite ways to unwind.

Education

2009-2017

Thompson Rivers University

I began my post-secondary studies at Thompson Rivers University, ultimately completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. This combination gave me a strong understanding of both the cellular side of human health and the way our minds process stress, pain, and movement.

2018-2020

University of Saskatchewan

After graduating in 2017, I knew I wanted a career that combined helping people with my love of sport. I was accepted into the Master of Physical Therapy program at the University of Saskatchewan, where I completed my training from 2018 to 2020. The program’s strong focus on assessment and manual therapy blended naturally with my background in biomechanics and human behaviour.
