Our Story

Why Jory Started Stride Physio and Performance

Stride was started by Jory, a physiotherapist and the clinic's owner. He wanted a place where you understand what's going on with your body and leave feeling more confident and capable than when you walked in. Care here is based on current research.

We see people of all ages and activity levels from Swift Current and the communities around it: athletes, farmers, tradespeople, office workers, new parents and older adults. The goal is whatever matters to you. That might be working a full shift, getting back on the ice, lifting or sleeping through the night.

Our services cover general and sports physiotherapy, pelvic floor physiotherapy, concussion assessment and management, vestibular rehabilitation for dizziness and vertigo, dry needling, acupuncture, shockwave therapy and massage therapy, including prenatal, postnatal and jaw (TMJ) massage. Having it under one roof means care like pelvic floor physiotherapy or vestibular rehab doesn't have to mean a drive to Regina or Saskatoon.

Jory has also worked as medical support staff with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. The team regularly helps hockey players and other athletes plan their return to sport.

What We Believe About Evidence-Based Physiotherapy

Lasting change comes from understanding your condition, staying active and building strength and confidence over time. Our job is to guide that, and to teach you how to manage your body on your own so you have a plan if things flare up again.

We base our care on current research and tell you what it says. That includes what's likely to help and what probably won't. Where the research hasn't settled a question, we'll say so.

Sometimes that means fewer visits than you expected. It can also mean hearing that you don't need an MRI, a brace or a pair of orthotics. We'd rather earn your trust than sell you something.

We do offer custom 3D-scanned sherpa3D orthotics, custom OssKin knee braces and help choosing off-the-shelf braces from brands like Thuasne, Push Med and Bauerfeind. Every recommendation starts with an assessment. You're free to buy a product somewhere else, and that choice won't change your care with us.

Our Approach

How a Thorough Assessment Shapes Your Plan

Every plan starts with a conversation. We ask about your symptoms, health history, activity, work, sleep and stress, because the sore spot is only part of the picture.

A physical examination and clinical tests come next. They help rule out anything that needs medical attention and narrow things down to a few likely causes. If physiotherapy isn't the right fit, or something should be checked by your doctor or a specialist first, we'll tell you and help you get there.

Hands-on treatment, needling and shockwave can help settle pain so it's easier to move. We use them when they're useful, alongside exercise and education rather than in place of them. Your plan is individualized to your goals and how your symptoms behave, not a standard protocol for a diagnosis.

Meet Our Swift Current Physiotherapy and Massage Team

Nine people work at Stride: six physiotherapists, a massage therapist and two office administrators. If you see more than one of our clinicians, they talk to each other about your care so the pieces fit together. With your consent, we also work with your family doctor, specialists, dentists, coaches, employers, WCB and SGI when it helps.

How Our Physiotherapists and Massage Therapist Are Registered

Our physiotherapists are registered with the Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists (SCPT), which regulates physiotherapy in the province. You can look up any physiotherapist on the SCPT's public register. In Saskatchewan, dry needling, acupuncture and internal pelvic floor treatment are specialized procedures, and a physiotherapist must complete council-recognized training before providing them. Massage therapy isn't regulated by a provincial college in Saskatchewan. Here, the RMT designation comes from membership in a professional massage therapy association, which sets standards of practice and handles complaints. Ask our front desk and we'll tell you which association our massage therapist belongs to.
