Laurel's Background and Approach

Laurel grew up on a mixed grain and hog farm outside Rosetown, Saskatchewan, which shaped her calm, practical way of working. She earned a Bachelor of Science in physiotherapy at the University of Saskatchewan from 2002 to 2007. While there, she played a season with the Huskies Women's Volleyball Team, volunteered with the PAAL program supporting people with physical and intellectual disabilities, and joined the Greystone Scholar Society. Her awards include the Joan Eaton Memorial Award for orthopaedic performance and the Elisa Rieder Memorial Award for her interest in Aboriginal health.

Across more than 17 years in hospital and private practice, she's taken post-graduate courses in pelvic health, manual therapy and acupuncture. Her treatment is hands-on and considers the whole person, particularly through changes like postpartum recovery, injury or aging. Pelvic health can be hard to talk about. Laurel gives you room to describe what you're experiencing, explains what's going on clearly and moves at a pace that suits you.

Away from work, you'll find her at her kids' activities, outdoors, reading, doing puzzles or at the lake. She also plays guitar.
